2013: On a random night in KYUEM’s cafeteria, Arief and Rob met for the first time. Unbeknownst to them, a life-changing journey was on the horizon.
E:1 – Year 1
2014: The honeymoon year, each day was poetry in motion and the world seemed beautiful for Arief and Rob.
E:2 – Year 2
2015: The year had taken Arief and Rob in very different directions. Arief moving to study in the UK while Rob went to Melaka marked the start of a treacherous long-distance relationship.
E:3 – Year 3
2016: Arief and Rob had to settle with meeting each other twice a year. They questioned if this could be the breaking point.
E:4 – Year 4
2017: They both got a small breather as the 8-hour time zone difference was shortened to 5 hours as Rob began her study in India
E:5 – Year 5
2018: Both finally returned to Malaysia however the distance now was only a few hours away as Rob continued her med school studies in Melaka while Arief started a new job in Kuala Lumpur.
E:6 – Year 6
2019: The last year of medical school brought overwhelming stress to Rob. Arief tried his best to ease that stress by travelling twice a month.
E:7 – Year 7
2020: Just as Rob completed med school and went back home to Ipoh, COVID struck. These two would not see each other for months as the MCO was announced.
E:8 – Year 8
2021: COVID was still in the air and MCO was still underway. However these two found ways to stay strong by sending gifts to each other.
E:9 – Year 9
2022: Disaster struck as a merisik event got cancelled when Arief got an ill-fated COVID infection a week prior to the meetup.
E:10 – Year 10
2023: The Ipoh family met the Kuala Lumpur family as Arief and Rob celebrated their engagement in a dazzling event in Bercham.
